Gareth Evans

Gareth Evans has been president of the Brussels-based International Crisis Group (ICG) since January 2000. He was Australia's foreign minister from 1988 to 1996. In 2000-2001 he was co-chair of the international commission on intervention and state sovereignty (Iciss), appointed by the Canadian government, which published its report, The Responsibility to Protect, in December 2001.
