Jon Fraenkel

Jon Fraenkel is senior research fellow at the Pacific Institute of Advanced Studies in Development and Governance, University of the South Pacific, Suva, Fiji. His research and publications focus on the economic history of Oceania, electoral systems and contemporary Pacific politics. His academic writings have been published in the Pacific Economic Bulletin, the Journal of Pacific History, the Australian Journal of Economic History, and the Oxford Encyclopaedia of Economic History. He is the author of The Manipulation of Custom: From uprising to intervention in the Solomon Islands (Victoria University Press/Pandanus Books, 2004).
