Richard Rorty

Richard Rorty was professor of comparative literature and philosophy at Stanford University. Among his books are Contingency, Irony, and Solidarity (Cambridge University Press, 1989), Achieving Our Country: leftist thought in twentieth century America (Harvard University Press, 1998), and Philosophy and Social Hope (Penguin, 1999)

Richard Rorty died on 8 June 2007.
