Ahto Lobjakas is one of the initiators of Charter 12 and an op-ed columnist for Postimees, Estonia's largest daily newspaper. He spent ten years as Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty's Brussels correspondent, after having studied politics and philosophy in Sweden and the UK.
