About Alexander Pokrovsky

Born in 1952, Alexander Pokrovsky was an officer in the Russian navy for 15 years until he began writing to relieve the boredom of night watches. He has published a number of widely acclaimed books based on his naval experiences, and his novel 72 metres was adapted into a film by Vladimir Khotinenko.
