About Giuliano Battiston

Giuliano Battiston is a freelance journalist and researcher. He works on cultural issues, mostly on globalization and counter-hegemonic movements and on international politics, writing reportages mainly from Central Asia and Middle East. He worked for five years at the Fondazione Basso’s School of Journalism in Rome (http://www.internazionaleleliobasso.it/). He published two interview books: Zygmunt Bauman. Modernità e globalizzazione (Edizioni dell’Asino 2009) and Per un’altra globalizzazione (Edizioni dell’Asino 2010). He is working on a book about “Afghan civil society” for the Italian network “Afgana” (www.afgana.org). He is one of the organizers of the “Salone dell’editoria sociale” (www.editoriasociale.info).
