Shadi Mokhtari is Assistant Professor at the School of International Service at American University. She is the Author of After Abu Ghraib: Exploring Human Rights in America and Middle East, which was the co-winner of the 2010 American Political Science Association’s Best Human Rights Book Award. She is also the Editor in Chief of the Muslim World Journal of Human Rights.
