Sonja Hegasy is a researcher working on the project ‘Power and Continuity in a Muslim Monarchy’ at the Centre for Modern Oriental Studies in Berlin. Her PhD on state and civil society in Morocco was published by Deutsche Orient-Institut in 1997.
