About Var Hong Ashe

Var Hong Ashe was born in Cambodia where she worked as an English teacher. She escaped Cambodia at the end of the Khmer Rouge period (1975-79), and has lived in England since 1979. She is the author of From Phnom Penh to Paradise (Hodder & Stoughton, 1988), and runs a website on Khmer food culture, Amok Cuisine
