Fawaz A Gerges is a Professor of International Relations at the London School of Economics and Political Science where he directs the Middle East Centre. His most recent book is, Obama and the Middle East: The End of America’s Moment? (Palgrave and Macmillan Press, 2012). 

Among his other books are America and Political Islam: Clash of Cultures or Clash of Interests? (Cambridge University Press, 1999); Journey of the Jihadist: Inside Muslim Militancy (Harcourt Press, 2006); The Far Enemy: Why Jihad Went Global (Cambridge University Press, 2005); and The Rise and Fall of Al-Qaeda (Oxford University Press, 2011).
