About Mikhail Khodorkovsky

Russia's richest man who dared to challenge Vladimir Putin, founder of the Menapet bank, the major shareholder of the Yukos oil company, arrested in October 2003. Found guilty in May 2005 of fraud and sentenced to nine years in prison. The sentence was later reduced to 8 years. His second trial on fraud charges began on March 31, 2009.
