Susan Brownell is professor in the department of anthropology, University of Missouri. In 2007-08 she is on sabbatical leave as a Fulbright Scholar at the Beijing Sport University. She is the author of Training the Body for China: Sports in the Moral Order of the PeopleâÛªs Republic (University of Chicago Press, 1995) and BeijingâÛªs Games: What the Olympics Mean to China (Rowman & Littlefield, 2008)
