I had a note from Masha Lipman about the closure of the European University at St Petersburg (EUSP).

Please join us in signing this petition calling on the Putin government to allow teaching and research to resume.

On the charge of breaking "fire regulations", the European University has been closed down. The EUSP offers an MA in Russian studies and is a serious post-graduate institute for research in social science and the humanities.

It is mostly independent of Russian State funding, with support from Europena Union funds and some US Foundations (including some of our funders like OSI and MacArthur).
