open democracy google automatic adverts,

Maybe not the most important topic, but I feel quite disturbed by the automatic advertisements by google on the open democracy site. Their engines obviously pick up words from the articles and try to target ads to open democracy's audience. Only it ends up being reunion sites for American soldiers, cheap weapons and biographies of American reactionary politicians.
I know it's hard to keep it free, but is there a way of finding a way of sponsorship that is less contradictory to what oD is doing?
cheers
