Aguirre's characterization of Ignatieff so startled me that I've quickly caught up on him thanks to the internet. It's been years since I read his The Needs of Strangers (1984), so, thanks to the internet, I've been able to read his recent op-eds, etc. Ex: http://www.granta.com/extracts/1643

It appears he's developed a much more patriotic take on the United States than many Americans have (incl. me), which I (as he does) attribute to his being born a Canadian. Stunner: he really imagines the American Revolution still continues. Has he taken out American citizenship? He might as well, given what he's writing nowadays.
‹ Russian/China Ten Activate 10 Divisions To Counter US What keeps me from sleeping at night ›
