 <title>Peru’s political timebomb , John Crabtree </title>

 <description>  &lt;p&gt;Alberto Kenyo Fujimori returned to Lima on 22 September 2007 after nearly seven years in exile, to find himself under lock and key. The man who held the presidency of Peru for a decade (1990-2000) finally &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.voanews.com/english/2007-09-22-voa10.cfm?rss=human%2520rights%2520and%2520law&quot;&gt;failed&lt;/a&gt; in his attempt to convince the supreme court in Chile, where he had been held since 2005 after being prevented from returning to contest the 2006 presidential election, to block his extradition. &lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p&gt;Fujimori now faces an array of charges relating to corruption and human-rights violations during his &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.psupress.org/books/titles/0-271-02747-9.html&quot;&gt;period in office&lt;/a&gt;.
