I find Ms. Rosen's commentary on the American election to be well written nonsense. There is no "fear", beyond the paranoid few who always fear something. This election was managed, quite well I must admit, by a small number of people in the so-called mainstream media. They fed well chosen soundbites to our large number of politicaly illiterate voters, and it worked this time. Unless the winners can show the people something a lot different than than what their retoric indicates, it wont work again.

A great and moving article, Ms. Rosen.

Yes, the voters have spoken and gobsmacked today's incarnation of the GOP. Sad that it took so long, so many lives and other national treaure, not to mention Iraqi Lives, hopes and dream.

However, our struggle to end our long national nightmare, as Gerald Ford once put it, after the lst imperial presidency was demolished, is only beginning, unless we want that particular evil to raise its ugly head again in a few years.

We, the people, must not go back into our usual American trance, but remain vigilant and continue to be outspoken in the service of Democracy, our Constitution and right action at home and abroad.

This administration has done tremendous harm to our nation and it will, no doubt effect us for generatins to come.

For once, there must be real accountability for all those found to be responsible or all of our hard work, over the past 4 years or so, will have been in vain.

The mid-term political earthquake in the United States was a vote against a macho politics of fear, says Ruth Rosen. Read the rest of this post...
