my girlfriend was robbed twice in Redfern last year on her way to Sydney uni, by groups of aboriginal teenagers.
As far as im concerned, the police dont "harass" them kids enough.
Dont u think drug use and alcohol abuse and skipping education is the main cause of their present suffering?

I watched the movie "Austailia" last fall at the Cinema and have since watched it a couple of more times at home. The whole point of the movie revolved around the plight of the Aboriginal peoples, specifically the mixed race children that were taken from their mothers and placed in orphanages to "breed the black out of them." I would recommend this movie to everyone who is interested in Austrailian history and hopefully it will encourage equality even more.

I am sure the journey to healing in Australia will be fraught with trials and tears, but every journey begins with the first step. Forward movement is now possible.

There is small mention about the Tasmanian Aborigines (almost as a second thought on many of the published articles). I realize this is an Australian apology; however, the Tasmanian man genocide parallels Australian colonization.
