[see science update below]. 2. - He is not correct [or smart] to rebuke Mrs Merkel's initiative for contraction with convergence. [Even Al Gore 'sells it' [C&C] - though its true, he says he 'doesn't buy it': - http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/2007/aug/08/guardiansocietysupplement.greenpolitics] [a] you cannot mathematically avoid that if global contraction is in play; [b] accelerating convergence relative to contraction is the equity point embedded in the US Senate's Byrd Hagel Resolution of 1997. BHR was unanimously supported by the US Senate in that year; [c] John Kerry was part of GLOBE USA that year and were formally committed to contraction and convergence a year later.
