Help!! Volunteers needed to beat the spammers

Posts:

Hi,

It seems that the spammers have the upper hand over the tech at the moment...

I thought we could move to fully pre-moderated forums, but that is not working at the moment. Instead, the spammers are hitting us hard.

So ... can I enlist your help, please. Please volunteer to be on spam-guard. If you volunteer, I will give you the permission to delete posts. If you abuse that privilege, I'll take it away. Sounds simple ... it might even work :)

Please send me your username by email if you'd like to volunteer. (tony dot curzonprice at opendemocracy dot net)

Thanks, Tony

So, opendemocracy is asking

So, opendemocracy is asking for volunteer maids; in return the maids will be granted the privilege to throw the trash in the trashcan.

What else will openDemocracy offer: a return of slavery? All for the good of humanity, no doubt...

Tony, I'm glad to see you

Tony, I'm glad to see you like smearing those who deride you:  it becomes a member of the party you belong to just as it becomes your quirky intelligence to fail to tell the difference between a public park and a private news organisation.

How are you doing? How's your wife and kids?

Don't you want to talk about the election? We have a lovely assortment of threads to choose from.

 Who are you voting for?

a good tool I would like to

a good tool I would like to have is to see all posts searchable by user name

and any user names that only appear once or twice to automatically flagged

and we must disable the "not logged in " user name or flag it as well

and ip blocking is good tool for the worst cases

I also want to see the ability to put a private message on every page visited by a signal ip with a chat window where they can talk back to the moderator
