The Independent carried an article on a group formed in Israel of ex-IDF soldiers who wish to speak out about how the force has treated Palestinians, particularly those in Hebron.
An element of this sort of behaviour is to be expected (at least I believe it is likely) but should not be tolerated. It certainly is the sort of behaviour which erodes the chances of a peaceful solution. This is also accepted as expected behaviour, if not acknowledged as such, by the Israeli senior commanders.
This policy is low intensity ethnic cleansing. The idea is to make life unbearable for the Palestinians so that they move out.
No-one should be surprised. Zionism is racist by definition so treating "untermenschen" like animals is a logical consequence.
The irony is that there is an active protest movement against this sort of thing in Israel but anyone in the US who raised the issue would be attacked as anti-semitic by the AIPAC/Christian right lobby.
