David Hicks' Diaries Reveal A TerroristI can't remember...
... anyone but his dad saying he's not a terrorist. The rest of Aus thought he should've stayed in Guantanamo. Goes to show that maybe the US is doing the right thing by keeping the detainees there...

reply Who's Defending Hicks?
Thanks for your post regarding David Hicks. There some on OD who believed internet misinformation which claimed Hicks was wrongly held at Guantanamo. Many on OD like to lay at the feet of such hacks and then bombard the rest of us with their drivel. It is only fair play to point out the truth to them. Hopefully the embarrassment will teach them to think twice before listening to these hacks again. I

reply Damned Hacks
It's not easy sifting through the crap, and many people just like to disagree for the hell of it, whether what they're hearing is the truth or not ;-) I may be guilty at times of the latter...

I can't see how I can disagree with that statement. Very true indeed.

In light of past criticism for US detention of enemy combatants at Guantanamo, it should be brought up that one supposed victim was in fact an al Qeda follower.
Australian courts released the diaries and letters of convicted terrorists David Hicks dating back to 2000. In them, he wrote of his 20 meetings with bin Laden, his training as a jihadist, and other activities.
Time for those who complained of his wrongful detention in Guantanamo to eat a little crow.
