Tom Nairn has used this chapter on the cosmopolitanism, of Byzantium in Judith's book to write a very interesting review which will be published in Arena at the end of the month. It would be too incentuous of us to commission it and I never thought of it either! But if it is stronly linked to and branded as an  Arena commission we could run and Tom says he would be very pleased.
