The Arabic Dream Veses The American one

A few years ago, i listened to a song on tv that revolves about The Arab dream. Arab singers performed this collective work , hoping that Arabs  become  a strong and developed nation that competes with others in all fields.

Are The demonstrations that have taken place in The  two Arab  African Countries  the begining of  this unity ;moreover, do they  prompt the repair of the wide  craks that prevent the Arabs progress and strides  to reach the summit.

Is this dream similar to the American one. That is America is  the land of dream where one can be materially succesful.

Will the Arab citizens  enjoy better,  richer and happier  life through peaceful means.Do they need to keep a stiff upper lips  to enjoy an economic growth ,  a political  stability and much more  freedom or  is this song  on youtube  just a pipe dream that can not be transformed into reality owing to external and invisible internal factors.

The Arab world spans a wide

The Arab world spans a wide array of countries - they might have the same religion, however within those countries there are cultural differences. So there will always be some lack of unity and differences, just as there is in America, with each State being different to the other.

I'm not sure if it is similar to the American dream. A large part of the American dream is based on capitalism. Capitalism functions best when women can also work and bring in taxes. The Arab world would need to have equality for women allowing those who want to work to work, allowing those who want to show their ankles and to wear  fashion womens shoes to be able to do so, before they can even begin to talk about unity and freedom for the Arab world - otherwise half its population - the female half - is still being opressed.

PCMJ, That is one of the best

PCMJ,

That is one of the best posts you've made to date.  It speaks directly to Natural Law and the yearning for freedom that transcends politics, culture and religion.  That is really the essence of the American Dream which is not American at all.  It is the dream of all peoples everywhere who want freedom, peace, and prosperity.

I join you in wishing this for all people, but especially those in the Arab world who need it desperately.

Nonsense.  We are all in this

Nonsense.  We are all in this together, learning from each other.
