Censorship doesnt help openDemocracy!!! This is the only forum, where my posts "disappear" on purpose

Dear fellow reader/bloggers of http://www.openDemocracy.net

How can it be, that openDemocracy censors postings? I really wonder if real democrats would act like that?

Truth is hard to digest sometimes, but to delete my posts describes nicely the behavior of our so called western "democracies". Sad but true.

Why isnt it possible to openly discuss these most important issues here?

Think twice before you delete democracy!

As you admitted, you frequent several forums.  I do a Google search of the exact text you post and find copies of the same postings you post here...word for word, on hundreds of blogs.  Perhaps this is the only forum that respects copyright law.  As a British expat, I'm sure you must have some understanding of UK law on this subject.

It's not censorship to respect the law.  You are a serial offender who posts other people's work and sometimes your contributions consist of merely a link without any comment of your own.  You are more like a dog marking his territory, than an intelligent person offering an opinion.   Regretfully, we no longer have a Limbo to relegate your more off the wall postings.  So all we have is the "delete" button to keep your fringe serial postings in check.

Think twice before posting SPAM.  Anarchy is not democracy.

Sign o' the time ... the articles i posted are 100% in full agreement with UK copyright law, you should rather be worried about trampling the law of freedom of speech at openDemocracy, btw is it really "open"? ;-)

OpenDemocracy is a farce, democracy and freedom of speech does not exist in this forum, the openDemocracy forum is now suppressing opinions to silence uncomfortable truths, worse than in China or Iran.

Very funny how the paranoid west starts to behave even worse censorship wise, then their brothers from the East, they wanted to enlighten with their democracy through fire power lies ;-)

OpenDemocracy is just another "open" propaganda tool financed by the decaying western world. The good thing is, truth always prevails ... therefore all is good :-)

Here are the articles which i posted before, without violating any copyright at all ;-)

Roger,

You and Iron Mike can slag away. However looking at the site www.thetrumpet.com all the material on that site is copyright and you are not free to post articles from their website. They are quite explicit about this point on the site. You are breaking the law.

United Kingdom Copyright Law is more restrictive than US Copyright Law and under our law you may only quote a small amount of text (you would be surprised how restrictive that amount is) for the purpose of review, criticism and news reporting. You should remember that all quoting of other peoples work is an infringement of that persons copyright. It is theft. You should write your own stuff, post it and debate it. Having had experience of the publishing business I get very pissed off by people such as yourself who steal other peoples work, and I get equally pissed off by web sites (and moderators of web sites) who do nothing to stop this theft. It is for that reason I constantly go on about it here and I am pleased to say Iron Mike, though a damn Yankie, has finally taken notice, as has the other moderator. So stop doing it.

Owly, how funny is that, you're definitely the right person to talk about theft while supporting illegal US and UK wars in Irak, Afghanistan and the entire World ... if only you would take theft as serious as it is ;-)

Iron Mike
6 January 2010 - 8:19pm

So you rationalize your theft, not because your actions are not wrong, but because the actions of others are worse?  That's quite a philosophical slippery slope.  Are you sure you're up to the challenge without someone else's website doing the heavy lifting? :-)

Dear Iron Mike

If you could, you would charge me for writing here at oD, isnt it? unfortunetly the Internet is still free to use, free to post, free to repost, free to quote, etc.

To accuse me of theft in this matter is ridiculous, when i repost an article (only the intro with link) its 100% within UK law and all other Countries, therefore it is of no question on how you handle truth in your substantially clipped world ... wake up, Iron Mike!!!

Widen your horizon for better health, body & soul ;-)

No it isn't. As I said in my post UK Copyright Law only allows very very small amounts to be quoted and under certain circumstances - they way you post would not in my view fall within those terms and conditions. We are talking a sentence or two at the very most. The idea you can use '10% or 400 words of a work' is very misleading and really incorrect. You started off by saying works you posted were freely available. I looked at one site you use and this site makes it clear that articles it published are copyright and you DO NOT have permission to reproduce those works, be it the full work or the introduction with a link. So why don't you stop steeling other peoples work and actually start producing some of your own.

SolveeCoagula

Okay, a sentence or two is okay for me too, buddy ;-)

Only for the purpose of 'review, criticism and news reporting'. That means you have to write a post and not just use your paste pot.

It must be a special pleasure to virtually waterboard uncomfortable bloggers, hmmm, Owly?

Momo

Having to write your own stuff instead of copy +paste is the same as torture for you then? Why am I not surprised…

7 January 2010 - 10:24pm

No, I'm old fashioned: much prefer to have them 'racked'. More effective. But in your case . . . . . . .

Seeeeeee, i always knew, you're one of the good guys ...

OpenDemocracy is a farce, democracy and freedom of speech does not exist in this forum, the openDemocracy forum is now suppressing opinions to silence uncomfortable truths, worse than in China or Iran.

When you going to start posting "truths" uncomfortable or otherwise?  What you post is a lot of unfounded conjecture by half-wit conspiracy nuts.  Which would be fine if you were the half-wit conspiracy nut that actually wrote it.  But you are not the author, so you are just re-posting the work of others.

Worse than China or Iran?  Let me know when the oD staff shows up at your doorstep with a tank and then we'll talk.   Did you even count the number of your threads remaining?  Six...including this whine-fest thread of yours criticising oD!  Sounds pretty open to me.

SolveeCoagula
6 January 2010 - 6:56pm

Dear Iron Mike, I wonder what for you need a tank to talk to me, running out of arguments, hmmm?

You're definitely in the wrong movie here, your ideological puppet masters may strongly disagree with me ;-)

Iron Mike
6 January 2010 - 8:11pm

I find it curious that Momo has better reading comprehension than you despite English as a second language.  Perhaps it has to do with all those mushrooms you smoked back in the sixties, especially if you think you are in a movie.

Clearly, NO ONE has come for you with a tank, so oD is hardly  worse than China or Iran.

But I have to compliment you on the fact that you have now posted more original thoughts in a single thread than all of 2009.  Keep up the good work!

SolveeCoagula
6 January 2010 - 9:48pm

Thanks for the flowers and your inspiring words to keep up the good work, i will do my best to continue to inform oD readers about both sides of the coin, of course, just to balance out ;-)

I dont think it would be a big help for oD, if new people who are checking out your forum, start to think they landed in a White-Churchianity-Neocon-Nazi forum, instead of oD ;-)

Please start to respect other opinions in your forum, even you don't agree with 'em, as a moderator you should really being able to overcome personal animosity.

I suppose, some of the stuff i post is thought provoking, but believe it or not, i had many enlightening discussions with peoples from all around the world ...

For a lovely, wise, truthful and lightful 2010

All is good :-)

Please start to respect other opinions in your forum, even you don't agree with 'em, as a moderator you should really being able to overcome personal animosity.

Sorry, the chances of me "respecting your opinion" is pretty low.  The best you can expect is that I will respect your right to offer it, no matter how stupid.  The fact this thread is still in existence and your account has not been blocked is evidence that I am not exercising my personal discretion.

But when you post other's people's opinion and violate copyright law, you violate the forum terms of use and will be deleted by ANY of the moderators (not just me) unless the staff sees fit to resurrect the Limbo forum.  It has nothing to do with whether or not I agree with the plagiarised material you post.

No, unfortunately most of the stuff you posted isn't provoking, just boring. And you are greatly overestimating the amount of boredom we can put up with.

6 January 2010 - 10:29pm

Bloody hell. We actually agree on something.

SolveeCoagula
6 January 2010 - 9:28pm

Even its boring, its not fair to delete or silence opinions. Freedom of speech is a very important rule, thats basic understanding of democratic processing, i never said, democracy is sexy, especially EU "democracy" ;-)

bigC
8 January 2010 - 9:58am

I disagree.  Democracy is sexy.  And you're quite right about freedom of speech.  Part of this is the right to post material on the internent and not have it scattered everywhere without permission. So it is you, not we who are abusing free speech.

As you have been asked time and time again, please exercise your right to "speak" and place your opinions here for discussion.  You will be welcomed if you do so.

SolveeCoagula
8 January 2010 - 10:21am

You're quite right, bigC, when i read some of your justifications to silence opinons, i am certainly not wondering anymore who gave you the permission to express yourself, tough definitely not your heart ;-)

SolveeCoagula
6 January 2010 - 10:13pm

[edited for the same boring and obvious reason]

SolveeCoagula
8 January 2010 - 10:32am

A clear false post attack, or was it a false flag attack, now i am confused, hmmm, i didnt post anything ;-)
