Yet more violence

The Popular Resistance Committee (PRC) in Gaza seems to be losing its fight with Israel, not surprisingly, after kicking off the latest round of Muslim terrorist violence with an attack on vehicles near the Israeli town of Eilat on Thursday that killed 8 Israelis, including 6 civilians. Seven Palestinian gunmen were hunted down and killed in the wake of the attacks.

Israel then responded by targeting the PRC, and in the past 24 hours, in precision strikes, it has killed Kamal al-Neirab, the PRC's leader; Imad Hamad, the organization’s military leader, and other operatives, including the group’s rocket expert and his 2-year-old son, who died when the missiles struck their house. Another PRC militant was hit while on his  motorcycle.

I would not want to be a PRC member right about now.

And in other news, a suicide bomber blew himself up in a packed mosque in the Khyber area of Pakistan, killing at least 45. The bombing came despite it being Ramadan. The bomber appeared to be 15 or 16 years old, and entered the mosque as services were ending, detonating a vest filled with explosives and ball bearings.

“Whoever did it in the holy month of Ramadan cannot be a Muslim,” survivor Saleem Khan told the Associated Press from his hospital bed in Peshawar, the major northwestern city where many of the injured were taken. “It is the cruelest thing any Muslim would do.”

I'm betting it was a Muslim.

Eretz Yisrael: Lawless,

Eretz Yisrael: Lawless, Corrupt and Dysfunctional

What do you call a country that persecutes occupied people and one-fifth of its own population for not being Jewish? An illegal occupier for over 44 years, suffocating over 1.6 million Gazans under siege! A nation practicing torture, persecution, and racism as official policies! A modern day Sparta, glorifying wars and violence!

Israel's policy of carrying

Israel's policy of carrying out reprisal raids means they can hit any targets that suit them. It's all part of Israel's state terrorism. You can just as well, or even better, terrorize the population by murdering entirely innocent victims. You might say the same of terrorism in general.

Yes, the Israeli military is

Yes, the Israeli military is very effective. Palestinians should cease their terrorist activities while they are behind, and before they get even more innocent Palestinians killed, including their own children.

Interesting to note that some in Gaza are voicing the opinion that no retaliatory rocket strikes be attempted due to the efficacy of Israel's anti-missile system. Let's hope that sentiment spreads, and no more blood is shed as a result of Palestinian terrorism.

Let's hope that sentiment spreads, and no more blood is shed as a result of Palestinian terrorism.

Terrorism, whether Israeli or Palestinian, is to be condemned. Since Israel is a mass-murdering, nuclear-armed state, there is no equivalence in terms of means to inflict destruction, so intervention by the world community, is necessary. This has been prevented by US  support for Israel's crimes, although they are opposed in theory.

Therefore, a solution through peaceful means is unlikely and an outcome which is catastrophic for all concerned is more likely.

Well, you always have seemed a bit on the pessimistic side. But a peaceful solution is not only possible, but I'd argue inevitable ... one way or the other.

A quick road to peace would involve the cessation of all terrorism committed by or on the behalf of Palestinian terrorists. As soon as the rockets and mortars stop being launched into Israel, and the RPGs and missiles are no longer hitting Israeli buses, and the suicide bombers decide instead to stay home, get jobs and be good citizens ... and these act of sanity can be sustained ... then we'll start seeing better hopes for peace. I'm sure the vast majority of Palestinians want that. Unfortunately, the terrorists in their midst and their terrorist-supporting leaders don't. So, it's basically a question of how long it will take everyday Palestinians to take matters into their own hands, get rid of the Islamists and Iranian-backed terrorists in their midst and truly put themselves on the road to peace.

Henry, It's true that peace

Henry,

It's true that peace can be achieved through the submission of these pesky natives to the master race. Australia and the United States are examples of mature colonies which have morphed into modern states. This has occurred because there were overwhelming numbers in Europe to crush the native people. In South Africa, the colonial enterprise failed because the 'natives' were so numerically superior that the 'whites' had to give up in the end.

Israel, don't you think, is to be compared with Apartheid South Africa. The numbers are more balanced. Jews have risen, through mass immigration, from around 10% of the population to about 50%. However, there's really no sense in maintaining a Jewish state in precarious conditions, when there are many Jewish homelands around the world, notably the United States, which offer far greater prosperity and security.

We could save much time, if you prefer, if you send me the direct links to Hamas PR releases rather than copying and pasting, or, as above, recasting their tripe in your own words.

BigC had similar notions not too long ago. He posited that Israelis, if put upon enough by Islamist terrorists, could simply decamp to their "home countries," I believe is how he put it.

By the by ... I believe Canada can also be lumped in as one of those "mature colonies" which has crushed its native peoples. Odd that you didn't mention it. Now, of course you've done such a good job of it that terrorism by your own put-upon natives is unheard of. But if they should get frisky and start blowing up school buses full of happy little white Canadians, how soon can we expect you to be decamping to the UK or Ireland (or, God forbid, France?)

Indeed yes, and many more, depending on the chronological beginning and end points that you might select. The bizarre thing about Israel is that it should be setting up as a colony, just when the colonial era is ending after WW2.

Do they have such a thing? Actually, the link would be to the entire world community, except for the culprits and their supporters. Israel, on the nation-state scale, behaves just like criminals on the individual scale; they have their lawyers and their supporters but are abhorred by decent citizens.
