gallup survey shows muslims dont want extremism
here is the link
http://www.gulfnews.com/nation/General/10091413.html
some high lights:
In every country surveyed, with the exception of Turkey and Bangladesh, more respondents said better relations with the West concerned them a great deal.
...
The data contradict the American perception that Muslims are not concerned about better relations with the West.
...
Gallup surveys also contradict the conventional wisdom that Muslims envy the West for its technological and economic superiority and despise Western democracy, freedom and human rights.
...
The surveys showed that while Muslims have negative attitudes toward Western foreign policies, their attitude toward the West are more positive.
...
According to the surveys, Americans and Muslims share common values, such as a high regard for liberty and equality. Large percentages in most of the predominantly Muslim countries surveyed associate the idea of liberty with the United States more than they do with other Western democracies, including Britain, France and Germany.
...
When asked what can the Muslim world do to improve relations, both Americans and citizens in the predominantly Muslim countries surveyed mentioned 'reduce extremism'.

Re: gallup survey shows muslims dont want extremism
jyang,
Well if that be true - one has some doubts I must say - the question is what are YOU going to do about it ? After all you are a Muslim, its your religion so just how are you going to tackle extremism ?
Might one make a suggestion ? Perhaps it could start with a genuine effort to show toleration and liberty to other religions which live in Muslim Countries. I am thinking particularly of my fellow Christians who face continued harassment and oppression in many Muslim lands.
Merry Christmas !

Listen to this pencil neck geeks lame explanation. I especially like the line, ""Non-Muslims can train us in their technology but must not be allowed to express their religion in an Islamic State"
Anybody else sick of islam and muslims?
Re: gallup survey shows muslims dont want extremism
steelers,
This is called fundamentalism. When a person believes they they are right and deny others the opportunity to question them. Moreover such a person feels insecure, so they do not allow any opposition or any other view besides his/her.
I for one am very proud of my religion and do not feel insecure at all about Islam. If someone wants to preach a different religion, then I believe Islam is the truth and it can withstand any attacks, so let them preach and bring it on. Christian missionaries have tried many times to attack Islam but under scrutiny their falsehoold is revealed. They make up stuff and call it islamic when infact it is not. 72 virgin story is one such thing that is completely made up, but I don't know who made it up.
Truth is always victorious. It is sad that many Muslim countries do not tolerate other views, but it is because they are themselves ignorant of their own religion and cannot defend it; plus they have many wrong conceptions about their own religion. Ignorance is every where.
I like the way the black (muslim) senator handled the republican who said he would not allow muslims to take oath under quran in america. the black guy said simply there is a big knowledge gap. And that is indeed the truth, most people don't understand islam, including most muslims.
Re: gallup survey shows muslims dont want extremism
"They make up stuff and call it islamic when infact it is not. 72 virgin story is one such thing that is completely made up, but I don't know who made it up."
The righteous shall return to a blessed retreat: the gardens of Eden, whose gates shall open wide to receive them. Reclining there with bashful virgins for companions, they will call for abundant fruit and drink.
Q 38:51-2
They are to cohabit with demure virgins...as beauteous as corals and rubies...full-breasted maidens for playmates...in the gardens of delight.... They're to lie face to face on jewelled couches, and be serviced by immortal youths...young boys, their personal property, as comely as virgin pearls.... We created the houris [dancing girls] and made them virgins, carnal playmates for those on the right hand.... We are going to wed them to dark-eyed houris. [The Koran 55:56; 55:58; 78:33; 56:12; 52:16-17, 24; 56:35-38; 52:20]
" ... most people don't understand islam, including most muslims."
That much seems to be true.
HH
Re: gallup survey shows muslims dont want extremism
HH,
Oh you are so pathetic. I am actually glad you proved what I was saying, that Christians make up stuff and say it is from the Quran. The Quran you are reading is probably written by a Christian?
Now lets take the first one:
Quran 38.52 says this: "And with them will be companions who are equal in age"
You have added extra stuff to embellish it.
Now the other one:
Quran 55.56: Wherein both will be those restraining their glances upon their husbands, whom no man or jinn has touched.
Now the salacious details that you inserted about the full breasts, playmates, virgin pearls, dancing girls and other muck is the filth of your imagination probably. It is certainly not in the quran.
You have more lies, bring it on, I will show you, God willing, the truth from the Quran.
Re: gallup survey shows muslims dont want extremism
I suggest you read a muslim translation of the Qur'an. Here are some translations:
http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/quran/
One realizes the true beauty of the classical language and the message when one understands the arabic it is written in and does not rely on someones translation, however since you dont understand arabic, at least try to get a muslim translation.
Re: gallup survey shows muslims dont want extremism

I guess that is totally a matter of opinion. I personally find the plagiarized book offensive and crude and see no beauty in the koran or arabic at all. It is a gutteral ugly language. No disrespect to you intended....all disrespect to the murderer mohammad and ollie.
Re: gallup survey shows muslims dont want extremism
I have many comments but I'll try to keep it short.
Bush is a puppet and is not responsible for the Iraq invasion. Bush is an incompetent that has been made to believe he is on some mission from God. Bush is part of the "Skull and Bones" group out of Yale, as is Kerry, Bush Sr., and Bush Sr. Sr. They are part of the elite that are trying to control this planet. This group has its roots in a similar German group. Call it evil, Satanic or whatever. I personally think it is Satanic and that there really are evil spirits, as the bible says. One really cannot deny that spirits exist based on so many unexplained events of today. Another discussion.
The Muslims are getting out of hand, and control of oil and the middle east is paramount.
One of the stated goals of one of these groups is to have a world population of 500 million. (Coasttocoastam.com has summaries of different guests- one talked about this a couple weeks ago). That's quite a reduction. My feeling is they are using the Bible predictions to start a world war and get us to nuke each other until the population is reduced. The US government is already or has made large underground facilities in Colorado.
THey are also using immunizations in the third world to do this, weakening the populations in reality. In fact they are doing this in the US as well I think. (the dramatic rise in Autism for example is linked to immunizations).
And the Muslim leaders are taking advantage of the situation by trying to gain power and control, and using their uneducated but very loyal and unquestioning subjects as puppets to do these evil things like suicide bombings. Yet the clerics are also puppets and do not realize it, playing right into the hands of the elite.
We as average people know that we are very much alike and have common peaceful goals. Quibbling about the details of heaven is such a waste of effort. There is a much deeper and more serious agenda that will get most of us killed I think unless we start getting smarter about our focus.
I don't know why Muslims are so afraid to question Muhammed. Many Christians have explored other religions first or have not been raised as Christians. I think it is healthy to read about other religions or at least read about those who have done so.
One post said terrorists are "hell bent on destruction". Well, they think they are heaven bent. This is where the Muslims can try to tell them in their worship or something that this will not get them to heaven. And heaven is not earthly, as in having great sex etc. This is really ridiculous I think and there is no evidence of this. Just somebody's dream that was sexually frustrated. Will I get a million dollars too? How about 1000 acres of land? 400 horses? I like nice cars. Can I have 100 exotic cars? See how ridiculous this is?
We are spiritual beings in human bodies and sex is to reproduce here on earth. You don't do that in the sprit world. You don't have a body anyway. Come on- use your God given brain a little.
Re: gallup survey shows muslims dont want extremism
man4mtns,
I agree that discussing the obscurities of any religion will not get anyone anywhere, especially if the peson you are discussing with doesn't believe the same thing.
However, whenever debates like this one get serious someone somewhere points to these obscurities as proof of somekind, and the debate goes off onto another direction.
Still I felt that I had to reply to certain claims.
'We are spiritual beings in human bodies and sex is to reproduce here on earth. You don't do that in the sprit world. You don't have a body anyway. Come on- use your God given brain a little.'
Well Muslims believe that we will have companions in heaven. If you are not a muslim you probably don't believe this. Here you yourself are getting further into the finer details of religious faith that you dismissed a little while earlier as pointless in your post.
Re: gallup survey shows muslims dont want extremism
asaf.khan01,
Heaven is a spirit world so any talk of virgins or earthly pleasures does not make sense to me; from what we hear from those who have seen a glimpse of it from near-death experiences, it is a wonderful place, and you see your dead relatives, a white light, your life passing before you, a mission revealed, etc. There is no question in my mind that the hereafter is a wonderful place. Nobody has reported on Hell though. Does it really exist? Probably.
Anyway it is hard to not wonder about it. The Bible, Qu'ran and other religions and peoples have various descriptions. But from what I hear, any form of suicide really defeats our purpose and will not get you there. Life is a gift, a miracle.
Even today we hear of miraculous events. I heard a man tell a story on the coast to coast a.m. radio show (Art Bell) how he was basically brought back from being dead.
He was walking in a field, started to have a heart attack, sat down to die, heard a voice that told him to get up and walk to a house and tell (gave a name) to call 911 and that he was having a heart attack. The voice told him he was going to have a 3 month rest. He did so, and he said it was very strange walking, like in a trance, not seeing well, etc. He delivered his message and all went black, and he basically was dead. Then he started to wake up, at the hospital, and they were trying to revive him with shock paddles. They would shock him, and he heard them say "0" (the pulse rate). After a couple times, he thought he better tell them he was awake, and suddenly sat up. The doctor, shocked, said "Lie down, we're trying to revive you. He did, and after the next shock, his heart started again. The doctor and attendant yelled happily that they got him going, and couldn't believe it. They told the man he was "DOA" (dead on arrival) and could not believe he was alive. The man had heart surgery and fully recovered after a 3 month recovery as the voice had said. Then he was at a cafe and saw a man come in who looked at him in shock. "What's the matter with you" he said. "I hauled you to the hospital in my ambulance, and you were dead!"
So strange things happen even today. I believe this story, because of how it was told and it was just one of many callers on the show. Art Bell said he believes in a hereafter because of many calls like that one. There are also many calls about evil things, spirits, hauntings, Ouigee board experiences, etc. People experience some bizarre things, and it would be hard to make them up.
These show us that there is much we do not or cannot know about the hereafter, and need not know. It is there, and we will all go there soon enough.
The point I really wanted to raise is the real purpose of the wars etc. going on. These are designed to ultimately reduce the world population I think- get us all fighting so we will kill each other off, while the elite hide underground or in Switzerland or wherever.

all very well, but the facts do not support this at all.
More propaganda. Actions speak loudest, and we see the actions and here the threats, and never hear a "moslem community leader" actually condemn them , there is always an excuse, usually blaming the jews.
Re: gallup survey shows muslims dont want extremism
"and never hear a "moslem community leader" actually condemn them , there is always an excuse, usually blaming the jews."
actually that is also quite baseless accusation.
Here is an online listing of many major Islamic organizations, movements and leaders who routinely condemn terrorism:
http://www.muhajabah.com/otherscondemn.php
Your comments only show that you are the type who watch fox news and see and hear only what you want to.
Re: gallup survey shows muslims dont want extremism
You should have watched 'Undercover Mosque' on Channel 4 last night. What was supposed to be a moderate mosque which was 'fostering' good community relations between it and the non-Muslim community was shown to be nothing of the sort. The attitude of many of the 'clerics' who preached there to non-Muslims - 'Kaffias' I think was the term of abuse widely used - was quite disgusting.
Re: gallup survey shows muslims dont want extremism
I have posted the link and for the life of me cant understand why the brits havent picked these scumbags up and charged them with incitement to terrorism. Hey brits, it may be time for some vigilante justice with these pieces of shit! I know I sure would like to deal personally with the scum from new jersey and faiz muhammad from australia. If I had 5 minutes alone with either of them it would be many years before you heard ANY hate come out of either one of these scumbags. Not that all of the other imams heading the mosques dont deserve the same fate, its just that these 2 assholes need to be put on the priority list.
Re: gallup survey shows muslims dont want extremism
just found out faiz muhammad (what an original name for a dumbass muslim) was a championship boxer. Makes me want to be able to meet him all the more to teach him a life lesson! LOL, hes a punk!

Dont worry, the whole world is slowly but SURELY becoming aware of the muslim animals! The showdown with the cancer of islam is soon! The question will remain whether you are going to be part of the problem, or part of the solution.

1- when I watch one of the interview between the egyptian lady whom she is not christian nor jewish nor muslim and was insulting islam and that was on al jazeera tv in arabic which really I want to listen to the defendant who is an islamic scholar and this episole I miss it and didnt watch it in our local tv , so really I was upset that why youtub didnt video the whole argument and only show us the accusation, what that means . Once I watch one of the video and was a christian lady with the reporter in cnn , they showed us the allegation and defendant as both parties are christians and that issue was about God hate america. I hope you watch it, so you got both opinions and all viewers also then they can judje themselves, but when the issue is dealing with muslims and islam , you cut and paste evedents and not permitting the posters to listen to the other opinion. Really I will be gratefull to youtub if they will video it all completely. I know that they dont want others to hear the answers and then you want us to believe in your democracy ?
2- always I told you we want justice when it comes to muslim issues like others. The media is totally bias and I admit that we are muslims and arabs are poor in conveying the wright message as western do. it is not the truth of what is always shown in some channels, one has to search for truth and really sometimes I can give execuses to ordinary western people as it is not their fault that they dont see what we see and many times cant see behind the event as their media is bias.
Re: gallup survey shows muslims dont want extremism
spare me your "cut and paste" muslim bullshit rhetoric. All videos and articles I post are in their entirety with no deletions. You just dont like what you see.....Well, believe what you hear abdul....your people are lowlife scumbag terrorists.
Thats right abdul....its the medias fault now! Its ALWAYS somebody elses fault when dealing with arab/muslims, never theirs. Well that dog just wont hunt anymore abdul. Time to make you all stand up and be accountable!
Hey abdul, you have misspelled the word right incorrectly thousands of times. It is not wright, or wrights....It is right, or rights. I just thought you might want to know since you are incapable of using the spell check. Must be too advanced for you.
Re: gallup survey shows muslims dont want extremism
steeler
1- I mean cut and paste, as you choose what it is only suites you and you didnt answer my questions why youtub didnt video the whole discussion between the lady and the muslim scholar and only they cut her speeches and paste it in the video and leave the other, that what I mean ,as may be also it is may be too advanced for you to comprehend that.
2- thank you for correcting me the word right as usually I wrote quickly my thoughts and I dont use spell check ,so tell me how . I dont need it , but if it is exist in the oD forum , so Iam grateful to know , we have to learn tell the last moment of our life and it is not shame to learn even from my enemy as this is the message also of islam if you agree or not. ( sure u will not agree as usual ) .
Re: gallup survey shows muslims dont want extremism
ok abdul, lesson 1. Above the box you type in is a button marked spell check. Hit it. It will highlight in red all of your mistakes and give you correct choices to choose from. When you have corrected the post, hit submit. You have just corrected all of your spelling mistakes.
Re: gallup survey shows muslims dont want extremism
i will be both the problem and the solution!! yes lets conquer the world, hurray for bananas!
Re: gallup survey shows muslims dont want extremism
nobody ever said anything about conquering the world numbnuts! The cancer of radical islam needs destroyed, vanquished. If, as you say, you are not part of these animals visions and ideologies, then you have nothing to worry about. If you are, you will die. You can call me ape, spew your hate toward me, but the message of islam is not going to change. So hate away little muslim wench, lol.
Re: gallup survey shows muslims dont want extremism
But isn't this all just a fight with in Islam - itself.
People of the Islamic world/ like people over the whole world not only see liberty, they want it.
While, all others move towards this freedom, the Islamic world is torn apart by it. Where its masses are being drawn to liberty and freedom, its more religious and or ruling faction, is attempting to discourage this desire.
This is where the real war is.
To do this, Western society needs to be vilified, as being out of control, and away from the order and purity or cleanliness offered up by Islam. The people are told that if they don't follow the religion, that the whole society would break down, just as it did before the Prophet (never mind Ancient Egypt and the Greek and the Roman societies, to name a few). Since the people will fall into a state of disorder, without the support of teachings of Islam, one, is then justified in using violence as a means to keep the people, in line with the Islamic Law and Order, for their own good.
This blog is typical of the wishy-washy Islamic babble, coming from the moderates.
Islamic people will have to face and deal with their own dichotomy; is it going to be 'freedom of the individual' or 'one religious rule for all'?
This is not our business.
Re: gallup survey shows muslims dont want extremism
The problem with Islam is simply that it is not a religion: it is a way of life and of ordering society. In Sharia Law it lays down the Law, and as a Muslim regards the Koran as the literal word of God what mortal may alter or change what is in effect Gods Law ?
Also I think one needs to understand that Islam has become increasingly violent and intolerant partly because it is at war with itself, just as Christianity was once at War with itself. The biggest problem is probably the influence of Whahhibisum, a bigoted and intolerant form of Islam which has infected the whole like a cancer. Saudi oil money has allowed it to spread its influence round the globe and it is this voice you read in many of the post on this site.
I think I agree with the Pope. We in the West need to take a far more robust line with Islam and Moslems in general and we ought to demand reciprocity and respect for Christians in Muslim lands. The alternative is I am afraid for us to start and persecute Muslims in the way they persecute Christians. But perhaps it is better we don't go there.
Re: gallup survey shows muslims dont want extremism

1- thanks, because Iam a women and always in a hurry, I admit that the first time I saw the spell check above the box and because of that the narration of prophet mohamed (pbuh) was wright as women are deficcient in mind and in relegion and of course not all women , but I admit and most of us muslim women admit in that. The video you send also show that, as of course you took it to make fun of muslims teaching and it was shown that the women is first talk and then think and the man is in reverse and that is totally wright and for that and other reasons usually 2 women equal to 1 man in witnessing as the women has no time if she care about the home fully .( when you answer pls use neutral words and not abusive ).
2- You wrote to mr cherif, that our arabic language is nasty ? I dont think so, the language of Quran chooses from god is not nasty . ok, if you consider it like that as we are muslims and arabs your enemy , so learn your enemy language inorder to defed us well , better than killing us, you can defend us by education and not by using mass destruction weapons. ( choose the noble way to defend and fight with your enemy).
3- Iam a very lay person and palestinian and you know our traditional enemy in this world and eventhough one time I try to learn hebrow and I took many lesssons , and I took this opportunity when it was availabe and I want to follow teaching of our prophet mohamed (pbuh) as he encouraged us to learn the language of our enemy as to defead them . ( who is more broad minded and have wide perspective of the world ). I didnt feel it is shame to learn hebrew , as all languages are neutral and really may be you dont have the wide perspective to understand and it will be your benefit to learn arabic . See most of the poor palestinians in the occupied terroteries can speak fluent hebrew as fluent arabic and they are pure arabs and muslims, they like to learn the language of their enemies, without forgetting their language and the language of their Quran. ( again mr steeler , even if you dont beleive in Quran , dont use bad words against it , as we muslims also respect the original version of old testement toarat, and new testement which is bible ).
4- I told you thank you , even if you dont believe in my relegion as you told me to spell check, so also have tolerance to accept others opinions or at least not to aggresively fight them. Life is so short to gain many enemies.
Re: gallup survey shows muslims dont want extremism
1. You are very welcome! If I had realized it sooner I would have given you that very brief tutorial long ago. Glad it helped and I cant help feeling that it will help you learn english much faster. Im sorry for you that you feel that way about women. Lets leave it at that.
2. I have no desire in the world to learn arabic. I, unlike you seem to be, do not feel I need to learn arabic then use this knowledge to defeat them. My brain doesnt work like that.
3. lets just say you and I disagree with the reason for learning a foreign language.
4. Once again, glad it helped.

the 9 arrested in Birmingham seemed to want extremism, as they planned to behead a muslim soldier live on the Net. Perhaps now that the fanatics are targeting their own community, the "moderates" might at last wake up and see what's going on, instead of complaining about the police "persecuting"them.
