Greetings, everyone. I joined a while back, right during the uproar over the European cartoons as a matter of fact, and wanted to start posting then, but life got crazy and my time disappeared.
Anyway, the discussions I've been reading on these boards have been disturbing, stimulating, gratifying, and humorous all at once. It's good to see people exchanging ideas, even if agreement isn't always present.
One question:
Is this really the most heavily trafficked forum (as evidenced by number of posts)? I was hoping that the forum traffic would be more evenly dispersed, but then again, when you're pulling the stuff Bush & Co. are pulling in Iraq etc., I guess it's no big surprise.
Best wishes to all--see you in the forums.
Cheers,
Matt
Welcome Matt (number 2 - we have another Matt),
Nice of you to drop in for a greeting.

This is a hard question to answer. I think there are many sites with more posters but the posts here tend to be longer and better thought out than most. Also, this forum is made from wonderful software -well I like it more than vbulletin or phpbb.
You'd think with all the internet and global village stuff that you would get less nationalism and more internationalism in forums, but alas, that is often not the case. There are some serious instances of gross nationalism in this forum,
Welcome.
I have enjoyed my time posting here. I've learned so much doing research for my posts. It's only since 911 that I've taken any interest in what is really going on around the world. Prior to that I just swallowed the usual propaganda and media distortion.
As for forum traffic, people are always attracted to the biggest forums and biggest postings. It's sort of self fuelling.
