I feel lost someone help me!
I became an adult about 8 years ago, since then I have been feeling kind of lost in this great nation we call briton.
Less about me, a little back ground...
My friend had a dog a very nice dog friendly, reliable, protective, all the things you hope for in a dog.
Over the past few months his dog had been acting strangely, getting very aggressive and hostile, we thought maybe the dog was getting ill or old, so off to the vets we go and the vet tells us "there is nothing physically wrong with you're dog".
so a few months pass and this problem is getting worse until finally the dog attacks a young man about the age of 18, mauling his face and left arm.
Now from this point on there is no doubt in our minds that the dog has gone insane after a visit from the police we are informed that the dog must be put down (killed) altho sad at the prospect of loosing a family member my friend had no choice but to go along with this...
So off to the vets we go with the dog to get it put down, the vet is very sympathetic having been through this many times before, but the dog did wrong so it must be punished and stopped so it can't do this type of thing again... right ???
Now on with my problem....
The dog did wrong, no doubts.
We come to humans, a human can with full knowledge of what they are doing, harm, maim, murder and many other things to animals and humans, yet we do not put them down (kill) even if they are caught red handed(in the act) we choose to house and feed them for most of their lives, reliving them of all worries and burden. and more to the point they become a strain on our economy.
Am i becoming insane like the dog ?
because I fail to the lines that have been drawn.
dog does bad things, kill it.
human does bad things, house it and relive it of all worries, no rent, no bills, no tax, I mean im living the wrong life, freedom is the hard time not jail.
Why don't we all just kill someone, confess and get a roof over our heads for the next 20 years without lifting a finger to help our self.
I'm not the smartest guy by far but even I can see that something is very very wrong with our justice system.

Re: I feel lost someone help me!
I think the difference between the dog and the human is that a dog cannot control itself and we have no way of communicating with it or helping it change.
A human is much different, we can communicate ideas so we can help those who cannot control themselves (either by medical or social help). For those who can control themselves and did it for a reason there must be a punishment and at the moment this is jail, which i think is probably a lot tougher than you think (obviously i can't talk from expirience although i know a couple of people who have been to jail and they have said it is awful).
Plus when the person gets out they have massive difficulty getting a job along witht he problems of missing a missive part of your life with all the mental traumer that can cause.
Although i do agree with you that our justice system is not particularly just. I would have said for different reasons;
First the fact that if someone was to break into my house i am powerless to stop them doing anything for fear that i would later be prosecuted. Means that i do not feel particularly safe in my own home.
Secondly the simple fact that, as with all national legal systems i am sure, there are a significant number of loop hole for guilty people to use to not pay the penalty for their crimes. For example if a person is speeding and is caught by a speed camera they can get away with it if the camera isn't calibrated properly (a notable example being where a man was doing 60 in a 30 and was caught but the camera wasn't calibrated to be PERFECTLY acurate and he was let off. Not exactly fair...)
re: lost
Firslty I'd just like to say that you are forgetting the purpose of jail. Jails are mainly in existence as a preventative measure. For humans, it is because of our knowledge that jails exist that many do not commit crimes. Unfortunately for animals, it is impossible for humans to communicate to them that there may be adverse consequences if they harm someone/thing. Also, blue_eyes_982 is right. There is no way for humans to communicate with animals effectively enough to correct behavioural issues, and therefore except perhaps confinement for the animal for the rest of it's life, there is no other alternative.
And lastly,
Why is this under Globalisation?
Not seeing the relevance...
