I hate Islam. I hate it because it is a backward creed with nothing to offer in the modern world. I hate it because it is superstitious, arrogant, bigoted and absurd. I hate it because of its self-proclaimed ambition to dominate the world.
Islam is a bastard offshoot of Judaism, and like the two other great traditions of monotheistic lunacy originated in the Middle East. As soon as it emerged it plunged the whole region into decades of war under the leadership of Mohammed. Once the Middle East was conquered, Islam scarcely paused to draw breath before launching a ferocious attack against Spain and the Byzantine Empire. The widely criticised Crusades were actually a necessary, if sadly religious, campaign to expel these alien invaders from land they had stolen and pillaged. The natural end of the Crusades was the destruction of the evil, grasping Ottoman Empire and its expulsion from Eastern Europe; this was not achieved until the early 20th century, Sadly some of the descendants of the Ottomans are still amongst us and still scheming, despite the laudable efforts of Serbia to blot them out in the 1990s. If you dont like that interpretation of history, try finding out exactly WHY the civil wars in Bosnia and Kosovo started. You might be surprised. All through the long reign of the Ottomans other muslims continued their assault on civilisation; Arab pirates attacked ships in the Mediterranean for loot and slaves, and even launched slave raids as far as the south of England. Slavery is still rife today among muslims, with a lively Middle Eastern trade in black Africans and a thriving white slave trade in which hundreds of German, Polish, Ukranian and Russian girls are abducted every year for exploitation in Turkish or Arab brothels.
Islam never settled down. Throughout the 20th century it stirred up constant trouble and a growing level of terrorism. This reached its inevitable conclusion with the emergence of Al Qaeda, the worlds first terrorism franchise. While Osama bin Laden is officially a renegade, he has huge levels of support in even nominally friendly muslim countries such as Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. With his declaration of war against the West he has sent a loud, clear signal that our idiot politicians have somehow managed to miss. Islam and the West are now engaged in a Kulturkampf, a war of civilisations which can only end when one of the protagonists is destroyed utterly and for all time. If the West wins we will have a future of science, technology, progress and relative freedom; if Islam wins the world will sink into a new dark age where every decision and action is dictated by the supposedly infallible word of a book of ancient Arabic rantings. How rational is a system of belief that bans music and bacon?

I hope you feel a tad bit better now having vented out your frustration.
Peace be with you.

SUBJECT: THE KING AND THE TELEPHONE SYSTEM
Hello Peter,
I dont blame you for your ideas which are so stereotypical in their ignorance and bigotry that they should serve as a classic reference. But you know what, some of your arguments are difficult or impossible to dispute because they are quite right.
It is too boring to respond to everything but let me start by giving you more ammunition to insult Muslims.
Can you imagine that in the 1950s, when the King of Saudi Arabia tried to introduce the telephone into the Kingdom, at first he failed.
Why?
Because some of the Muslim religious leaders decreed such a device which transported human voices over long distances (scary thought) - to be the work of Satan. (There is supposed to be no clergy in Islam and no church-like organization. Religious men, yes; men of religion, no.)
So the wise king summoned two pious and well regarded holy men, and put each one at a different location of the capital, some kilometers apart. Each had a telephone set and they could talk to each other.
The king asked one of them to recite verses from the Koran.
He did.
He than asked the other if he had recognized the voice of his colleague, and the special code word they had previously secretly agreed upon.
Yes, he had.
Could he hear the recitation of the Koran clearly?
Yes, he could.
Was the recitation accurate?
Yes, it was.
Were there any lies or distortions in what he heard?
No, there were not.
But said the King, if this were truly a device of Satan, it would certainly not transmit the Holy Koran intact and undistorted. Therefore it cannot be from the devil. Therefore it should be allowed in the Kingdom. Do you agree?
The wise men agreed.
A nationwide telephone system was installed.
Is this Islam? Of course not. Islam is what gave you 1, 7, 16 instead of I, VII, XVI.
It is what gave you algebra, without which Newton and Leibnitz could not have developed calculus, without which the scientific and industrial revolutions would not have been possible.
Algorithms are essential for modern digital computers: the word comes from the name of the Muslim mathematician, Al Khowarismi. Modern Western medicine grew out of the translated works of Ibn Sina. If you want to say that Muslim societies have come down a long way from their peak, I agree.
If you must hate, then perhaps you should consider trying to hate accurately. Rather than hating Islam, upon which your renaissance was based, you should hate ignorant and superstitious Muslims. Many enlightened Muslims very religious or less so - dont like them either. But then hatred, like love, is blind.
And why does such a regime exist to this day? Because the rulers need the holy men to help them hang onto their power.
And why can archaic rulers hang onto power? Because they are protected by Western powers.
Why?
Because they do the bidding of their Western bosses with regards to the huge petroleum reserves. Also, according to the movie Fahrenheit 9/11, they help enrich certain powerful families beyond measure (but I guess not you, or you would be respectful for the sake of the lots of money).
But not all Muslims reject science: theocratic Iran is trying to build up its technical know-how, including nuclear power.
So here is the picture you dont see (hatred is blind): You protect your moderate Arab friends, while contemptuously accusing them of being ignorant, superstitious and backward.
If other Muslims strive to make advances in technology, you vilify and attack them and call them rogue states. You try to prevent them from acquiring the technology to threaten you like you can threaten them (except that you are beginning to lose the ability to really effectively control them, and that increases your hatred).
Thanks a lot for the two-faced, immoral and hurtful approach.
Re: Islam
Peter, you wrote
I hate it (Islam) because of its self-proclaimed ambition to dominate the world.
Is this some kind of cruel joke? Dominate the world? It is to laugh!
Muslims are not even able to stop the foreign armies rampaging through so many parts of their world, seizing property and assets and killing their people by the thousands.
You clearly live in a dream world created by the propagandists and spin doctors in your society. But that is common and you are not to blame, except maybe just a little bit for allowing yourself to be manipulated. It is difficult to resist. As the Roman statesman Cicero and others have pointed out, the beliefs and attitudes of a people are shaped to suit the interests and agendas of the powerful.
Those who go among the Muslims in peace are welcome. But too many foreigners arrive with armies to plunder and loot. Will the latter please, pretty please, just go away and leave these people alone with a long and painful struggle to try and sort out truly wretched problems.
Re: Islam
Dear Mr. Cherif,
the extent to which you apply a double standard is simply astonishing. In the other discussion you do nothing to hide your vicious hate of Europe, and European culture, but here you do not hesitate to accuse others of a "two-faced, immoral and hurtful approach". Why don't you begin to treat others as you would like to be treated?
It is, for example, completely arbitrary to attribute scientific successes from the Arab Empire to Islam, but the general scientific and cultural of the Arab world today not. Another great scientist of the Arab Empire, Ibn Rushd (which you somehow fail to mention), for example, was accused of heresy by the Muslim authorities of his time, for saying that there is no real opposition between philosophy and religion.
As to Iran, why does that country exactly pursue nuclear technology?
Your accusation that "archaic rulers" in the Muslim world can "hang onto power" is because "they are protected by Western powers" is simply untrue. What kind of protection did Moammar Ghadaffi, for example, receive from 'Western powers'? I understand, of course, that for you it is comfortable to think in that way, because like this you can continue your hallucination of the innocence of the Arab/Muslim-world.
As to Islam's "self-proclaimed ambition to dominate the world", as mentioned by Peter Rogerson, if you had made the small effort of actually reading, you had noticed that the gentleman mentioned the ambition to dominate the world, not its capacities to realise this ambition.
Which is maybe what upsets you.
Re: Islam
Well said M_7 ! You tell the old hypocrite !!
Cherif hates with a passion western culture and western ways, and yet he is only too comfortable to skulk away in Canada enjoying the protection of the Queen of Canada and the English Common Law.
If everything is so rosy in the Islamic world, and he thinks Islam is so perfect then why the hell doesn't he go and live under an Islamic government. Perhaps he should be deported to Saudi Arabia as soon as possible. But then again he wouldn't like that would he ? Hypocrite is a mild description of him.
Re: Islam
I don't read hate into Cherif's posts. He has expressed his appreciation of his Canadian home country but has the advantage of seeing the shortcomings of Western culture and isn't taken in by the junk spouted in our media which conditions most of the corrupted version of Judaeo-Christian culture that predominates.
Here's the view of another Canadian (Jewish it would seem)
