Re: openDemocracy Chatham House China Power List 2007
Before the persecution of Falun Gong in China in 1999, there were nearly 100 million Chinese practising this traditional Chinese cultivation practice which embodies the body, mind and spirit. It also abides by the basic universal principles of truthfulness, compassion and tolerance. Thousands of innocent Chinese people had lost their lives through torture and hundreds of thousands are locked up, either for slave-laboring or for their organs to be harvested to unsuspecting patients desperate for a second chance in life. Yet, people in China are still embracing this practice and at the same time telling the perpetrators to be good and kind. Meanwhile it has spread to nearly 80 countries worldwide. Despite the seven and half years of atrocities and brutalities from the Chinese Communist Regime there have never been any violent retaliations from Falun Gong. Truthfulness, compassion and tolerance is power!! Master Li Hongzhi is to be respected.

It is wonderful but hardly surprising to see, Teacher Li Hongzhi leading this pole. What makes it even more remarkable is that Mr Hongzhi has no interest in power whatsoever. All he asks is that people in Mainland China be allowed to practice this beautiful buddhist cultivation method without persecution. The gigantic contrast between, Falun Gong Practitioners following: Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance and the brutal acts of Genocide, including live organ harvesting (the murder of over 40,000 Falun Dafa followers so that their vital organs can be sold)have resulted in Over 20 million Chinese resigning from The Chinese Communist Party. More than 1 million resigned just last month. Riki Robinson, New Zealand

I agree that Li Hongzhi has a great influence on the Chinese people. He introduced the peaceful qigong practice Falun Gong to China in 1992. People who practice Falun Gong follow the principles Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. The practice became really popular as many people from all walks of life enjoyed it's benefits. However since July 1999 the Chinese Communist Party has outlawed the practice, and are using methods of torture to persuade these kind-hearted people who practice Falun Gong to give up their spirtitual beliefs. Under this enormous pressure Falun Gong practitioners in China have not yielded. Due to the Chinese Communist Party's efforts to hide this persecution, they have spread lies calling Falun Gong a "cult" when it is actually a spirtiual practice that improves the mind and body. There are still Chinese people who don't know the truth about Falun Gong. Falun Gong practitioners illegally detained in labour camps are trying their best to let people know what Falun Gong actually is. They follow Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance. The Chinese Communist Party has decided to go against these principles. Falun Gong practitioners in China continue to be kind-hearted and good people, even under this intense pressure. They are a hope for the people in China who still don't know what Falun Gong really is. I hope we can all be grateful towards Li Hongzhi.
