About Omid Memarian

Omid Memarian is a journalist who writes for the Inter Press Service (IPS) news agency. He has published op-ed pieces in the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Wall Street Journal and San Francisco Chronicle. He was chief researcher for Reese Erlich's book Iran Agenda and researcher for Roxana Saberi's book Between Two Worlds

Omid Memarian was a World Peace Fellow at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism in 2007-09; in 2005, he received Human Rights Watch's highest honour, the "Human Rights Defender Award". He is currently working on a multimedia project on “American Muslims in the Obama Era”. His website is here
