Pre-moderated posts; anonymous users can post

Hi,

We're experimenting with a new forum flow - all posts will be pre-moderated and anonymous users can post.

So you won't see your post appear immediately on the forum.

We're doing this because we're having some trouble with our user sign-up module. Until that's fixed, we'll be using this flow.

If you would like to become a community moderator --- someone who can go into the queue of posts and comments and approve or disapprove posts, please send me an email explaining why you'd like this responsibility and how many hours per week you could put into it.

olyimpic genoside

Hi,

l want to make a short evocation.

it was the biggest genoside in the 19.th century. there are about 1 million circassian(cherkes) were killed by the Russian soldiers. the people who were still alive were exciled from their homeland to the all over the world. Today they still live in diaspora and they don't want an olympic game in the sochi(the land of genoside) where they were exposed to the biggest massacre. Russia is still one of the most despotic states of the world. there are no differences between Soviet Union and todays Russia. We saw it during Chechnya war.

Halal meat

In a multicultural society 'Britain' should Halal meat and the method of its preparation be allowed. Should ethical values be put before religious ones? I beleive there is an exemption on religious slaughter.

A simple,peaceful,healthy,happy and good human.

Human survival crisis, pollution, global warming, wars, health and crimes. Good human civilization, culture, education and religion teach what human must do,many know but how many practise these values ? As an individual human ,you can do it by yourself. Capitalism do not allow, encourage or die if people observe and practise these values. Luxury, wastage but not simple. War to take instead of give for peace. Medication instead of natural healthy. Take instead of give for happiness. Sins instead of virtuousness. Profits,MONEY rules in this world will destroy human survival. USA Constitution begins with We the people and PRC is Peoples' Republic of China.

Thanksgiving - thanks for what?-VENUE CHANGE

CLUB NIGHT, 22 November: Thanksgiving - thanks for what? Whether it be questions about the president and his foreign policy, the dominance of Hollywood in our cinemas, the burgers and fries that make us all too fat, or the fact that Americans around the world just seem to talk so loud – it isn’t often these days that America is mentioned without a bit of a sneer. But America is also the 'Land of the Free' – the first great modern republic and the inspirer of revolution, a great economic power built on immigration, a dominant force in world culture and an artistic powerhouse. The next Manifesto Club Club Night is a chance to celebrate Thanksgiving – that time of the year when Americans eat turkey and mash and give thanks to the founding fathers. But in the spirit of the Manifesto Club, it’s also a time for some critical thinking: Thanksgiving – thanks for what?

Crucifixion of the most lawful and honest Chinese/Hong Kong citizen by bad guys and bureaucracy.

The captioned is as depicted in the Bible, what happened to J.C.2007 years ago. Human never learn from history and repeat identical mistakes due to greed, selfishness and human sins contrary to good human culture, education and religion teaching. You can replace Chinese/HK with Iraqi,Americans and others to reflect crucifixion elsewhere. Only good human may be including J.C. must be crucified by bad guys and bureaucracy and cannot be vice versa as good human is simple, peaceful, healthy, happy and good. Hong Kong a former British colony was handover to PRC on 1997 and the promise of One country Two Systems has been written in the

Human today

Human history is well over 5 thousand years in China which developed it's culture, education and religion. Gone are the good culture, education and religion and replaced by MONEY,mostly influenced by English speaking capitalism which again have nothing but MONEY in charge. Perhaps in other countries e.g. Muslim where certain moral standards survive and MONEY is not the KING. If human cannot live a simple, peaceful, healthy, happy and good life, keep destroying our enviroment, wasting our resources, waging greedy wars to take, doing all sort of silly immoral acts which are against mother nature, human will eventually disappear from this planet Earth.

Manifesto Club Night/Citizenship Event

'Since November 2005, immigrants seeking British citizenship have had to sit an official test to prove their suitability. Earlier this year Gordon Brown proposed that immigrants should undertake community work before being granted citizenship, and that they should understand citizenship as a ‘contract’ entailing ‘rights and responsibilities’. But is being a good citizen really about (in)voluntary work, or learning a list of rights and responsibilities? Can a multiple-choice test define what it means to belong in and contribute to a country? The next Manifesto Club night on Thursday 27 September will give you a chance to sit the test, to show the kinds of questions potential citizens are expected to answer. The night is part of a larger debate we want to start on the meaning of citizenship – on how to forge bonds of common interest between people of all backgrounds.'

Gangs and street violence

In the UK, August 2007, frequent media reports of street killings suggest that there is an increase of street violence, especially affecting young people. The increase may be real, or it may be due merely to increased reporting, since it is quite possible for media filters to create these apparent increases – as happened, for instance, with the great Bristol Baby Snatching wave in the 60s or 70s, which turned out to be a media illusion. In fact, even if there is no increase, we ought to address the problem of street violence. What can be done? The Government will probably bring out another piece of Asbo-type legislation – tough, as usual, on crime, but completely blind to the causes of crime, because looking at the causes of crime would involve Government in radical thinking, and also in challenges to business, and Government is averse to both.

Tibet could not survive without China

I have been volunteering in Tibet and Yunnan Province for 2 years now as a doctor to many Lama and travelling monks. I'm British. Its a shame that the middle class and racist Taiwanese or US funded media does not remember the simple fact that Tibet would not have the economic potential to maintain the infrastructure. Anti communist writers often say that China has destroyed Tibet. Incorrect. Despite what China did 50 years ago (which was appalling) one should remember that all the reparations, maintanance of ancient buildings, transport and reforms are all thanks to head governments in Beijing
