openDemocracy.net: Marketing and fundraising intern

We are looking for a student intern to help with fundraising.This is a paid internship, looking for 1 to 2 days per week.

You will do desk and telephone based research on funders as well as make initial approaches to them about openDemocracy.

This is a great opportunity to demonstrate that you can be successful in a skill that will stand you in good stead for your entire career.

You will be reporting to the Editor-in-Chief.You do not have to be based in London and you can tele-work for this internship.

It will be useful but not essential that you spend a couple of days at the start of the internship in London. You will get to talk to some of our current funders and you will gain an understanding of how money raising in the charity sector works.

openDemocracy regularly recruits freelance publishing interns to join its expanding volunteer web publishing team. Recruiting now for autumn start 

Volunteers help with the daily maintenance of our website, as well as get involved in special projects.

We are looking for highly motivated, reliable, flexible and committed individuals to maintain our high standards of producing quality content on the net. A good knowledge of global current affairs and the current news agenda, plus demonstrable interest in web publishing is preferred.

The ongoing internship programme is on a part-time, casual basis with a minimum requirement of five hours per week. Candidates must be able to work remotely.

terrorism.openDemocracy: Editorial interns

We are looking for interns to help with the production of terrorism.openDemocracy's regular "security briefings".The ongoing internship is on a part-time, casual basis with a minimum requirement of half-a-day per week. Candidates must be able to work remotely.

The successful candidate will have an interest in terrorism and security related issues, be a strong writer, and have some experience of website management and HTML coding. Please note that this is a writing-intensive internship.

The Migrant Resource Centre works with migrants and refugees and in partnership with other agencies to enable migrants and refugees to fully participate in society. For the past 25 years we have worked with migrants and displaced people from all over the world and provided advice, opportunities to learn, to meet with others and to speak out for rights and better treatment of the most vulnerable members of our society.

We are now seeking to employ:

Executive Director

Salary £45,226 p.a.(Inclusive of ILW) + 6% pension contribution

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team and help us deliver and develop existing and new services. The Executive Director will manage the delivery of MRC’s vision and play a central role in the external representation of MRC to opinion formers, donors, media and decision makers.

The ideal candidate will have experience in leadership and management of staff and a track record in successfully managing and delivering organisational strategies as well as financial management and fundraising.

The post holder will have an in-depth understanding of issues experienced by migrants and refugees. S/he should have a proven record of commitment to social justice and should also be able to articulate our agenda for change with clarity and passion.
