Victorios Shams is a Syrian writer based in Cairo since 2012. He was a member of the 'Union of Syrian Democratic Youth' between 1995-1998, then a member of the 'Popular Democratic Party' and the 'Democratic Youth Movement' in Lebanon, where he served in various capacities between 1999 and 2011, when the Syrian revolution erupted.
