About Anna-Louise van der Merwe

The Foundation Years Trust is a small charity with big ambitions to equalise life chances for all children through our work with children, parents and early years professionals.  The value of parents as a child’s first and most enduring educator is at the heart of everything we do. Anna-Louise has been the Director of the Foundation Years Trust since 2016.  Before returning to the UK, she spent over ten years working in education and child protection across Africa, Asia and the Middle East.   Her experience of working in some of the world’s poorest countries has defined her determination that all children should have access to a happy, successful life.
