She has led the organization since 2010 and holds a Bachelors degree in Women's Studies and a Masters degree in Social Justice. Cris has worked on anti-trafficking issues countering the anti-trafficking industrial complex that the rhetoric used to sustain narratives harms those who work in underground economies.
