The eurozone crisis has not only shattered Europe's economy, but stalled aspirations to build a common foreign policy in any way corresponding to its trade weight on the world stage. But the multiplication of conflicts at the EU's borders (notably in the Sahel and the possible regionalization of the Syrian war) and the emergence of heavy-weight players such as China and India make the need for a unified European voice more pressing with each passing day.
