# A response to David King

In a continuing discussion on the merits of the arguments put by David King and Benny Peiser (following comments by Charlie Kronick [here](http://www.opendemocracy.net/blogs/page/climateChange/20050511#a%5Fresponse%5Fto%5Fbenny%5Fpeiser)), Alexander Bates, who says he is Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of Australia, [writes](http://www.opendemocracy.net/forums/thread.jspa?forumID=179&threadID=44267&tstart=0):

*I was struck by the fact that Sir David was acting as an advocate, not a dispassionate academic observer.
