# Exxon angels over New York

On the contents page of the edition of *The New Yorker* containing the first of Elizabeth Kolbert's articles on climate change (see previous post, [The art of good science writing](http://www.opendemocracy.net/blogs/page/climateChange/20050424#the%5Fart%5Fof%5Fgood%5Fscience)), there are these words from "all-for-reducing-emissions" [ExxonMobil](http://www.exxonmobil.com/corporate/Campaign/Corp%5Fcampaignhome.asp?ref=opendemocracy.net):

*For all the long term potential of alternatives, there is, as yet, not easy way to meet the world's growing demand for energy and slow the rate of emissions*.

Today's young eager faces are tomorrow's clientele.
