# Attacks on stupidity

A few years ago, a team at the Massachussetts Institute of Technology developed a climate change roulette wheel ([here](http://web.mit.edu/globalchange/www/outreach.html?ref=opendemocracy.net#wheel)) which helps to communicate uncertainty around climate prediction.

Analysis has [moved on](http://web.mit.edu/newsoffice/2004/hydros.html?ref=opendemocracy.net) some way since then, but the roulette wheel analogy remains a good tool to help understanding (supplemented by such innovations as [climate sceptics bingo](http://www.opendemocracy.net/forums/thread.jspa?forumID=179&threadID=44285&messageID=62225#62225)).

Now Friends of the Earth has developed an upside version - a [climate lottery](http://www.foe.co.uk/press%5Ffor%5Fchange/lottery/about%5Fplay%5Fplanet.html?ref=opendemocracy.net) in which you can win money, and if you don't the money goes to support their [Big Ask](http://www.foe.co.uk/campaigns/climate/big%5Fask/?ref=opendemocracy.net) campaign.

The question you have to ask yourself is: do you feel lucky, punk?
