Yesterday, Greenpeace [halted](http://www.greenpeace.org/international/news/range-rover-shut?ref=opendemocracy.net) production of the Range Rover SUV, dubbing parent company Ford "climate criminals". They made their point, but - according to [reports](http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk%5Fnews/story/0,,1485493,00.html?ref=opendemocracy.net) \- they also pissed off the Transport and General Worker's Union.

Questions about tactics: is it wise to piss off an [organisation](http://www.tgwu.org.uk/?ref=opendemocracy.net) that claims 835,000 members and campaigns against corporate killing?

Wouldn't it be better to build an alliance? Is that possible?

(the issues here may recall the [debate](http://www.grist.org/news/maindish/2005/01/13/doe-intro/?ref=opendemocracy.net) around "The Death of Environmentalism")
