English language newspaper, [Iran Daily](http://www.iran-daily.com/1384/2271/html/?ref=opendemocracy.net), published in Tehran reports the not so surprising news!

"Former President Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani on Tuesday announced his decision to run for president. In a message faxed to the print media, Rafsanjani said when his eight-year term in office ended, he did not expect conditions whereby he would be obliged to run for another term"
