# An economist uncovered

Tim Harford wrote an [excellent piece](https://www.opendemocracy.net/people/schelling%5F2923.jsp) for openDemocracy earlier this year on Thomas Schelling - winner of the so-called "[Nobel prize for economics](https://www.opendemocracy.net/themes/article.jsp?id=9&articleId=665)" - and his game theory. I read his columns in the UK *Financial Times* regularly, but only today took a look at his [blog](http://www.timharford.com/?ref=opendemocracy.net), after a recommendation from another [blogger ](http://yinshuisiyuan.blogspot.com/?ref=opendemocracy.net)mate of mine last week.

I especially like [this post](http://www.timharford.com/writing/2005/12/trade-deficit-with-babysitter.html?ref=opendemocracy.net), where Harford imagines his wife and their babysitter as two different states negotiating at the WTO. It pretty much sums up my feelings about trade negotiation...
