*An Alexandria court sentenced a blogger, Abdel Kareem Nabil, to four years in prison for insulting Islam and* [*Egypt*](http://topics.nytimes.com/top/news/international/countriesandterritories/egypt/index.html?inline=nyt-geo&ref=opendemocracy.net)*’s president through his Internet writings. It was Egypt’s first prosecution of a blogger, but the case of Mr. Nabil, 22, a vocal secularist and sharp critic of conservative Muslims in his blog, has sent a chill through fellow Internet writers.*
