# Nuclear energy - its alright for some

Chinese and Russian representatives say sanctions are [not the answer](http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle%5Feast/4619828.stm?ref=opendemocracy.net) following yesterday's meeting in London. Their position echoed Hans Blix who has said providing enriched uranium and allowing Iran to pursue nuclear energy would be a good 'carrot'.

Meanwhile Tony Blair was being [remarkably unsuccessful](http://www.indymedia.org.uk/en/regions/nottinghamshire/2006/01/331486.html?ref=opendemocracy.net) in making the case for nuclear energy at home in Nottingham.
