Hot on the heals of the news that Fox News will follow its shiny new Titanic The [1/2 Hour News Hour](2007/02/19/And-the-President-laughed-1.html), with a blog-related show headed by [Michelle Malkin](http://www.variety.com/article/VR1117959996.html?categoryid=14&cs=1&ref=opendemocracy.net). I thought it would be worth wrenching humour back from the horrendous alternate universe populated by the ‘comedic’ spawn of Homo-cepranensis who were a little too fond of their cousins. Below is an abbreviated list of what’s making the oD office giggle.. 

Sam Geall draws our attention to the dawning of a new era of [human communication](http://www.ethanzuckerman.com/blog/?p=1242&ref=opendemocracy.net) – check out the Nigerian Scam Parrot Sketch.

Kanishk Tharoor cites an oldie: Dave Chapelle's [black Bush](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oVCk4kr0FRk&ref=opendemocracy.net). 

Rob Cawson highlights the [lighter side of real politics](http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle%5Feast/6388651.stm?ref=opendemocracy.net).

Felix Cohen posits the [crucial role of history](http://www.xkcd.com/c204.html?ref=opendemocracy.net) in shaping present day America.

Jessica Reed marvels at this guy's ability to make people spend [20 dollars on sheeps](http://www.thesheepmarket.com/?ref=opendemocracy.net) they draw *themselves*. 

No selection would be complete without a bit of good [ol' Daily Show action](http://www.crooksandliars.com/2007/02/15/the-daily-show-scarborough-helps-jason-jones-date-conservatives/?ref=opendemocracy.net).

Some [oddities](http://www.publicaddress.net/system/topic,50,eml%5Fthe%5Fmost%5Fshocking%5Fmoments%5Fof%5F2006.sm?p=1170&ref=opendemocracy.net#post1170) from my side of the world – excuse the obscure cultural references.

 Not universally beloved, but a good example of post-Office Brit political humour – with added [swearing and universal humiliation](http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcfour/thickofit/episodes.shtml?ref=opendemocracy.net).

 Now back to watching the 1/2 Hour News Hour.
