# openDemocracy on Skype!

It is now possible to contact openDemocracy through Skype; just add us a contact with the user name opendemocracy. Not only that, but while you're using Skype you might want to check out [this](http://www.bitchun.org/?ref=opendemocracy.net) impressive open source project, modelled on a concept in '[Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom](http://www.amazon.com/Down-Out-in-Magic-Kingdom/dp/0765304368?ref=opendemocracy.net)['](http://www.amazon.com/Down-Out-in-Magic-Kingdom/dp/0765304368?ref=opendemocracy.net), a novel by openDemocracy friend Cory Doctorow. The program is a plugin for Skype that automatically allocates respect, or 'whuffie', to the people you chat with based on the content of those conversations (especially with emoticons).
