You might remember [this open letter](../../../democracy-irandemocracy/openletter%5F3578.jsp) written by Danny Postel, which urged the liberation of Iranian-Canadian intellectual [Ramin Jahanbegloo](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ramin%5FJahanbegloo?ref=opendemocracy.net) (Wikipedia link). He was finally[ freed from jail](http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle%5Feast/5299560.stm?ref=opendemocracy.net) yesterday, after having spent four months incarcerated in Tehran.
