A couple of thousands protesters gathered to (violently) demand Ferenc Gyurcsany's resignation. The demonstration later turned into riots and many were injured, but Hungary's PM stood by his first decision: he will not step down, and asked police forces to "[use all means to restaure order](http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/5359250.stm?ref=opendemocracy.net)". In the blogosphere, some [wonder](http://www.metafilter.com/mefi/54876?ref=opendemocracy.net#1437112) if the entire scene was manufactured, as it seems the PM has leaked the transcript himself, posting it on his blog. Others [talk about](http://www.eurotrib.com/story/2006/9/18/225513/884?ref=opendemocracy.net#7) a "*moral and political crisis (...) a long-running (far)right-wing protest "culture", which included lots of angry protests with revolutionary rhetoric*", while Pestiside.hu, a website covering the 'daily dish of cosmopolitan Budapest' [denounces](http://www.pestiside.hu/archives/hungarys%5Frevolution%5Fthat%5Fwasnt002750.php?ref=opendemocracy.net) the media's thirst for vulgar cliches of the 'obscure Eastern Europe' which blend in together revolutionary riots, extreme-right violent apologists, and reclaimming the 'people's power'. On another [site](http://libe.fr/php/pages/pageReactionsList.php?rubId=12&docId=205379&s2=&pp=&next=10&ref=opendemocracy.net), a reader admits to not seeing the problem: "*For once, I am quite happy at the thought of having a politician finally telling it like it is*". Well, if anything, we can't really argue with that...
